Nowadays bad news come daily. It's time to have fun, at least escape from the Reality for awhile. Besides staying at her fantasyland, Magic went to watch a newly released Dreamworks' cartoon movie named Madagascar 2: Escape Africa.
Did you watch Madagacar 1? If so, you have to watch it and you'll love it. Even though you have not watched the first one, I am sure that you will have fun, too.
The main characters were Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo. If you did not watch the previous one, let me introduce you that they all originally were in Central Park in New York, US. Due to escape from Central Park, they were arrested and sent to Madagascar. However, they would like to back to the human world, rather than staying in the national park. They took a plane operated by Air Penguin. You gals won't desire to fly on it. But you know what... the aircrews on board were fully-trained, they were so cute! Unfortunately, they had to emergency land. While the plane was dropping dramatically, they were telling each other their own feeling from their heart. The real moment always happen before death. Like Melman told Gloria how deep he loved her, but Gloria slept deeply and did not hear. Poor Melman ! You could not imagine how they finally landed the ground. Scary, but funny!
They were survived and safely landed in somewhere. This place they found out their roots. Alex met his parents and other met their species, too. They encountered different life-style in natural - Africa and in Central Park - New York. Such like Alex the Lion, its natural character was to be strong to fight to other species, but Alex liked to show his fantastic dancing, rather than fighting. They were trying to adapt the new natural life. The side story about Alex it made me think about Disney's Lion King, Simba. But this is not Disney's film, it is its competitor's film. On the other hand, the penguins were trying to fix the plane. I really loved these smart, but 'bad' penguins. They always were well -planned and organised. Why did i say? They needed the material to repair their own plane. One of penguins pretended to be hit by a jeep - that was only transportation for tourists to travel around the Safari. The driver and tourists got off the jeep to check what the jeep hit. The other penguins were ready to drive away the jeep. That's the way how they stole all jeeps. No more transportation - how the tourists survived in Safari? This is a US film, you know .. they always showed how strong NewYokers survive in the different times.
Yes, NewYorkers were survivors in Safari, however, they affected the animals in their natural life. How did Alex and his friends rescue their natural life? Would Melman tell Gloria his love? Would they fly back to Central Park? Go and watch it !
In this film, you can see lots of our current issues shown in the film. Like the boss of monkey teams negotiated the staff benefit with Air Penguin teams. All monkeys were male, but they asked for maternity leaves, due to critical situation, Air Penguin finally agreed this. ha..haa.. the monkeys worked in the plane as an engine. There were bananas to motivate monkeys to work harder. People can be killed by the rumor. The rumor within giraffes was to find a hole to hide itself to wait for death if it had illness. Oh, Melman believed it and hid itself into a hole to wait for its death. Oh, stupid guy! ha..haa.. sounds funny, right?
